Joy Won

Erin, you’re the winner!

Last week I asked you to share your intentions for this year in my first blog giveaway.

I received 4 email responses from:
1. Mimi the Bee
2. Lovey
3. Gretchen
4. Erin
Then, I went to Random.org to let it select one of your numbers. The site revealed 4 as the chosen one.
Erin, I’ll ship your calendar to you in the morning. Enjoy!

Why do we wait until the new year to declare our good intentions and get serious about our ambitions and goals? I think every new day is a good excuse to improve behavior, habits and attitudes.

Imagine how much better the entire year could be if we all lived that way. Think about how much we each could accomplish if we treated every day like a new opportunity to get more fit, spiritual, generous. What if every morning we committed to quit cursing, drinking, gossiping, lying, complaining?

A friend told me once, “Tomorrow is a new day, just try again.” I found that statement so powerful and true. If you’ve already started slacking on your resolutions, it’s okay. Just keep at it.

I’ll be working every day to become a better me. I know it sounds corny but I mean it. Who I am and what I do for a living don’t match right now. I’m mismatched and uncoordinated. So, this year I’ll keep taking steps to be better at being myself. I’ll get my personal chef certification, I’ll exercise more to feel better and move faster. Ideally, I’ll shed inches in the process and reveal who I really am under the extra pounds. I’ll love more and listen harder and share more, much more, of my Life in Dishes.

Love this post! Every day I work towards being the best me that I can be. Looking forward to seeing you achieve your goals this year…and also accomplishing my own.

“Every new day is a good excuse to improve behavior, habits and attitudes.” I couldn’t agree with you more! I had, emotionally, the best year of my life when I started consciously trying to live like this.

Also, I love that shedding inches in the process of exercising is secondary… It’s like the icing on a cake. And exercising just feels more fun when the goal is fitness over weight loss. They go hand-in-hand, but fitness is the ultimate goal!

Congratulations, Erin! *lol* @ that pic, Chaundra!
