Light Pasta

Do you wanna know when I exercise the most irresponsible eating habit? I’ll tell you. It’s when I get home from work, just about 5 hours since lunch. My stomach is rolling like thunder and I’m drawn to the pantry to stuff my face with anything instant. Wanna know what I find in there that’s ready to eat? I’ll tell you that too.

Cookies, chips, crackers… it’s all nonsense and a handful of cookies is enough to counter any kind of 30-minute workout I may have achieved earlier in the day. My intentions are good. I pull out legitimate dinner ingredients while simultaneously smacking. So in just a few thoughtless minutes I’ve sabotaged my workout and doubled the amount of calories I’ll intake for the evening. The solution? Find a suitable snack! Or let the metaphorical hunger clouds keep rolling in until I’ve finished cooking.

That wait isn’t so excruciating when I make something quick and easy. Like this light and simple pasta dish.

Ingredients
Smoked Turkey Sausage (diced)
Carrots (diced)
Green Bell Pepper (diced)
Thin Spaghetti
Parmesan
Feta
Oregano
Onion
Olive Oil

1. Get some water boiling! But the lid on to hurry the process
2. Start chopping up your sausage and veggies, add olive oil to a saute pan to heat.
3. Add noodles to your boiling water
4. Toss veggies and meat in a pan to sautee until the sausage starts to release some juices
5. Season with Oregano, a lil salt and pepper
6. Drain noodles when they’re done
7. Toss in Veggies and sprinkle everything with parmesan. Top with Feta and eat!
