The ice melts

Nature is a constant reminder of God’s presence.

A week ago the metro Atlanta area was paralyzed. There was snow and ice restricting safe travel on the roadways. The temperature hovered around freezing. Schools and businesses were closed and everyone stayed at home.

Waiting.

It’s currently 63 degrees outside!

The ice melts.

I woke up feeling completely refreshed and with those three words on my mind.

Then, my 8-year-old, woke up all by herself and was completely dressed by the time I got out of the shower. I was impressed. This child  of mine is growing up and becoming more and more independent by the day.

Instead of me going in her room at 15-minute intervals, saying “Get up,” “It’s time to wake up,” and finally “Get up NOW!!” she did it all on her own. We were out of the house in record time and had the most pleasant of mornings.

They grow up. The ice melts.

And the weather breaks and life keeps moving on. If you’re in a frozen state, be encouraged. The sun will come out again.
